Ingredients
– 250 grams butter or vegetable oil
– 1 cup milk (200-250ml)
– Flour
– 1 egg
Directions
1. Combine all ingredients and knead dough. Dough should be as soft as possible, but not stick to hands
2. Divide into 4 parts and roll out very thinly
3. Place on a baking sheet lined with buttered wax paper
4. Add filling, leaving the edges clear
5. Roll out the top layer and place on top of the filling
6. Fold over the edges of the bottom sheet, tucking the top under it
7. Brush the top with a beaten egg
8. Poke the top with a fork
9. Bake at 375 for 15-20 min
10. Lower temperature to 325-350 and bake until done
Babushka’s Notes
– Recipe is for 2 pies
– Add flour until dough no longer sticks to hands
– If dough is thick, use your fingers to spread it to the full size of the baking sheet
– Suggested filling: Cabbage and eggs
