Oreshki (Nut-shaped pastry)

Ingredients
– 3 cups flour
– 2 eggs
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 250 grams butter or margarine
– 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
– 1 tablespoon vinegar
– 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions
1. Dissolve baking soda in vinegar
2. Rub the eggs into sugar
3. Rub the butter into the flour
4. Combine all ingredients until thoroughly mixed
5. Press into buttered forms
6. Bake at 375 for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown
7. Remove when cool
8. Stuff with filling and close the halves to form a “nut”

Babushka’s Notes
– Filling can be cream or boiled condensed milk. No custard.
– Half portion will make around 50 nuts
